Pre-orders open 9 July for Final’s True Diamond diaphragm closed-back headphone, with the first 150 units released as a limited Collector’s Edition
Tokyo, Japan - 9 July 2026 - Final has unveiled DX10000 CL, its new statement closed-back flagship and one of the brand’s most ambitious headphone projects to date. Pre-orders open on 9 July, with the first 150 units worldwide available as a limited Collector’s Edition priced at £7,999 / €8,999 / $8,999. The standard edition priced at £7,499 / €8,499 / $8,499.

Built around Final’s newly developed 40mm True Diamond diaphragm dynamic driver, DX10000 CL has been created to deliver the isolation, impact and physical energy of closed-back listening, while overcoming the resonance and coloration that can limit the format.
The limited Collector’s Edition features gold-coloured accents and is presented in a traditional Japanese paulownia wood box, with an original Shingen Pouch crafted from Tango Chirimen silk and a bespoke CNC-machined aluminium headphone stand. The standard edition will feature silver-coloured accents and will be supplied with the protective carrying case used across Final’s D Series headphones.
DX10000 CL is designed for listeners who want a private, immersive and physically engaging listening experience, with the clarity, tonal accuracy and resolution expected from a true flagship audiophile product.
A new high-end launch moment for Final
Closed-back headphones have always offered something special. By isolating the listener from outside noise and containing acoustic energy around the ear, they create a sense of pressure, intimacy and impact that open-back designs cannot fully replicate.
The challenge is that closed-back designs are extremely difficult to get right at reference level. Rear sound waves reflect inside the housing, creating unwanted resonance, tonal coloration and the familiar “cupping effect” that can make music sound less natural.
With DX10000 CL, Final has not tried to disguise those challenges through dramatic tuning. Instead, the headphone has been developed as a complete acoustic system, combining a new True Diamond diaphragm driver, high-rigidity airtight housing, controlled internal damping, carefully engineered earpads and a serviceable mechanical structure.
The result is a closed-back flagship designed to sound powerful and immersive without losing the openness, clarity and natural tone expected from the highest level of personal audio.
True Diamond diaphragm technology
At the heart of DX10000 CL is a newly developed 40mm True Diamond diaphragm dynamic driver.
The centre dome is manufactured using a Chemical Vapor Deposition process, where diamond is grown as a crystalline layer before the substrate is removed, leaving a self-supporting diamond dome.
Diamond combines exceptional rigidity, high sound velocity and strong internal damping. This allows the diaphragm to maintain accurate piston motion, reduce unwanted deformation and suppress residual vibration after the signal stops.
For the listener, this supports faster transient response, lower distortion and a more faithful reproduction of the original recording.
This level of control is particularly important in a closed-back headphone, where the driver must perform under greater air pressure inside the sealed enclosure.

Built around the diamond driver
To unlock the full potential of the True Diamond diaphragm, Final developed a complete supporting driver system.
The diamond dome uses a steep profile with a cylindrical rib around its outer edge, helping achieve the rigidity required for ultra-low distortion without unnecessary moving mass.
A newly developed polyurethane surround supports the diamond dome while allowing it to move freely and accurately. The voice coil has also been redesigned, using a lightweight polyimide bobbin-integrated structure to improve rigidity and drive precision.
Final has also adopted a free-floating lead wire structure, preventing the lead wires from interfering with the surround and helping preserve stable piston motion.
The driver system is supported by an N55 neodymium magnet, aluminium shorting ring and internal damping system, each designed to improve control, reduce distortion and absorb rear-wave reflections before they can return to the diaphragm and colour the sound.
Precision-machined for closed-back performance
DX10000 CL uses a high-rigidity housing precision-machined from an aluminium-magnesium alloy using advanced 5-axis CNC machining.
For a closed-back headphone, the housing is not just the outer structure. It is part of the acoustic design.
Rigidity and airtightness are critical because even small vibrations or minor air leaks can change the behaviour of the enclosed air volume and affect the final sound. Final has applied principles more commonly associated with high-end loudspeaker enclosure design, creating a headphone housing built for strength, stability and acoustic control.
Inside the housing, unnecessary material is removed to reduce weight. The resulting cavities are filled with dedicated acoustic damping material to control unwanted internal reflections.
This gives DX10000 CL the mechanical foundation needed for a closed-back headphone that sounds clean, controlled and consistent.
Natural balance, not forced excitement
Many closed-back headphones rely on fully sealed earpads to maximise isolation. This can increase low-frequency pressure inside the ear chamber, often leading designers to raise the treble to restore perceived balance.
The result can be a more exaggerated sound.
DX10000 CL takes a more refined approach.
Its earpads use Ultrasuede®, a premium synthetic suede with carefully controlled air permeability. This allows Final to manage the ear chamber more naturally while maintaining an effective acoustic seal.
The Ultrasuede® covering is paired with a specially selected foam material, chosen to support both the intended acoustic response and long-term comfort.
The aim is a sound that feels full, physical and engaging, while remaining smooth, balanced and natural.
Designed for long-term ownership
DX10000 CL has been created as a long-term flagship.
The headphone uses a unique 12-point through-bolt construction, with 12 screws clamping the housing assembly from the outer housing to the front plate. This creates consistent clamping force across the structure and supports the airtightness required for stable acoustic performance.
Unlike adhesive-based assembly, the screw-fastened design also allows the housing to be disassembled and reassembled for servicing when required.
Wear components can be replaced, and the headphone can be properly maintained over time. For a product at this level, that matters.
Collector’s Edition craftsmanship
The first 150 DX10000 CL units worldwide will be released as a special Collector’s Edition.
Alongside its gold-coloured accents, each Collector’s Edition is presented in a traditional Japanese paulownia wood box and includes an original Shingen Pouch.
The pouch is crafted from Tango Chirimen, a traditional Japanese silk textile woven in the Tango region of Kyoto. Inspired by classic Japanese drawstring bags, the pouch features a black and gold silk exterior with a soft deep purple silk lining.
It has been chosen to reflect the same combination of precision, craft and cultural detail that defines the headphone itself.
The Collector’s Edition also includes a newly designed headphone stand, precision-machined from a solid aluminium block using CNC technology. Created to display and store the headphone safely on a desk or audio rack, the stand completes the ownership experience for the limited launch edition.
Two silver-coated cables, co-developed with Junkosha
DX10000 CL includes two Final original silver-coated cables co-developed with Junkosha, a specialist cable manufacturer known for high-performance materials and cable engineering.
Both cables use silver-coated OFC conductors.
The included 4.4mm / 1.5m cable uses ePTFE insulation, chosen for its low dielectric constant and ability to preserve signal integrity.
The 4-pin XLR / 3m cable uses larger cross-sectional conductors to maintain low resistance over its extended length, with high-strength PFA insulation for durability and electrical performance.
Two premium conversion adapters are also included:
· 4-pin XLR female to 6.3mm male
· 4.4mm female to 6.3mm male
This gives DX10000 CL wide compatibility with high-end headphone amplifiers and audio systems.

About Final
Established in 2007, Final began as a subsidiary of the major American connector brand; in 2014, it became independent through an MBO by the current management team.
Now is what you would call, its second formation.Products such as earphones and headphones belong to a category known as current electrical appliances whose value is the greatest when they are brand new.
We, however, would like to create earphones and headphones that people have an affinity for and continue to use in much the same way they have with a mechanical wristwatch, the kind that will be valued as an antique in the future. To that end, it is necessary to embody the design of the product and how it is considered, including the repair system, as a concrete organization or structure.
Our brand concept is simple and has not changed since the company’s inception - “The comprehensive pursuit of things that are fundamentally right”.
In our pursuit of this, we have actively adopted cutting-edge technology such as 3D printers. We believe that such a pursuit is what creates a brand.
